The YouthKonnect Summit 24, held in Kigali from November 10 to 11, 2024, brought together youth leaders, innovators, and key stakeholders to explore youth empowerment and development in Africa. Representing AASAP Finder, MDFC delegates and exhibited under the Hanga SRHR section. The summit was structured over two days, with distinct focuses: Day one on welcoming and networking, and day two on engaging in deeper discussions, including hosting UNFPA delegates. This structure allowed us to showcase AASAP Finder, gain insights, and build meaningful connections to support our mission.
Day one focused on introductions and networking, where we engaged with delegates, gauged
interest in AASAP Finder and initiated meaningful connections. On day two, we hosted UNFPA
delegates at our exhibit, receiving constructive feedback on improving accessibility and
engagement for the platform. Observing the Hanga PitchFest Awarding Ceremony further inspired us
to refine our approach to digital SRHR advocacy. Key recommendations included enhancing the
platform’s usability, strengthening partnerships, and participating in future pitch events to expand
reach and impact. The summit provided a vibrant platform for networking, feedback, and inspiration,
aligning with our mission to advance youth-led SRHR solutions in Africa.
The YouthKonnect Summit 24 provided a dynamic platform to advance AASAP Finder’s mission, build partnerships, and draw inspiration from youth-led innovation across Africa. The two-day format allowed us to network widely on day one and gather actionable feedback on day two, setting a clear path forward for enhancing our impact in SRHR advocacy.
