On December 28–29, 2024, MDFC held its annual staff retreat, a strategic gathering focused on reflecting on accomplishments, addressing areas for improvement, and setting goals for 2025.
Acting Executive Director Dr. Clarisse Mutimukeye highlighted significant milestones, including staff expansion, impactful projects implemented in 2024, establishing a new office, and partnerships with key organizations such as RBC, UNFPA, and RMA. The retreat celebrated achievements in advancing SRHR services and digital health solutions while identifying new deep-focus areas such as HIV/AIDS, Family Planning, Gender-Based Violence, Mental Health, and Research.

Capacity-building sessions on leadership and organizational values strengthened participants’ ability to drive effective management, while discussions on restructuring roles and financial systems emphasized sustainability and operational efficiency. The Finance Officer introduced tools such as a financial forecast system and a smart request-and-approval process to streamline project implementation in 2025.
The retreat also emphasized the importance of international conference participation to address Rwanda’s underrepresentation and foster global collaborations.
