On September 11th, 2024, MDFC Rwandan joined a dissemination workshop on menstrual hygiene
management (MHM) to promote the accessibility and affordability of menstrual products in
Rwanda. Organized by IMRO with support from various stakeholders, the event focused on a
policy brief titled “Allowing Policy Solutions for Enhanced Menstrual Hygiene Products
Accessibility and Affordability in Rwanda.” The workshop aimed to share findings, foster
dialogue, and strengthen partnerships between civil society organizations (CSOs), government
bodies, and other partners. Discussions highlighted critical gaps in menstrual product access,
particularly in rural areas, and explored strategies for advocacy and policy accountability.

Participants formed groups to brainstorm CSO engagement with policymakers, emphasizing
collaborative advocacy, nationwide awareness campaigns, and stronger government
engagement. The workshop set the stage for advancing comprehensive national guidelines on
MHM in Rwanda.
